Claudia Edwards

I started teaching when I was 21 years old, as a Tae Kwon Do Instructor for all ages and levels. I taught in that discipline for nearly 8 years. I love to watch my students on their journey toward goals, be it a daily goal or a long term goal that could take them years. My love of teaching brought me to yoga teacher training, and since graduating the program I have made teaching yoga my full time career. Spreading the knowledge and wisdom of yoga, as passed down from my teachers lineage, so that others may find their own path of discovery is my passion.

Why yoga?
Yoga has brought to my life the balance that I was so desperately searching for. It has shown me how to ease my mind, to clear from my life the clutter that had collected there. It taught me how to gently clear the paths that were laid out before me, to navigate this world with purpose and gratitude. Without these tools I was stuck in a life that was comfortable, safe, but was on an endless loop with no clear way out. The physical practice of yoga gives me the strength, flexibility, and satisfaction the asanas provide, and by moving my body it clears my mind in the process.

Who or what inspires you?
My family inspires me the most. Not one person in my family has chosen the path of least resistance, or the easy way out. I have watched them succeed, struggle, and fail their way through their own journeys in this life; and no matter what happens they are all there for each other each step of the way.

Three adjectives that describe you and your teaching style:
Caring. Fun. Grounded.

Where are you the most fearlessly authentic in your life?
When I am on my mat personally practicing , or teaching class. It’s where I feel at home and connected to something greater, where there are no walls guarding my heart.

What is something not a lot of people know about you?
I am a 3rd Degree Black Belt in Tae Kwon Do.

Claudia Edwards instructs the following:
  • Vinyasa Flow - All Levels
  • Dynamic flow-based yoga. Recommended for those having a familiarity with Sun Salutations A and B.

Power Vinyasa flow is a rigorous, sweaty yoga practice stemming from the ashtanga tradition. Poses are held for shorter periods of time and will link one breath with motion, creating a dynamic and fluid ‘meditation in motion.’ This is a hot, sweaty fun practice often set to fun, fluid, dynamic music. You will leave inspired and ready to shine off the mat!

    Room heated to 85-88 degrees.

  • Gentle Flow
  • Gentle Flow is offered in a non-heated room. This blissful practice focuses on moving slowly into basic yoga poses while using the breath as a tool to remain present and mindful. The slow pace of this class allows you to enjoy each pose. Expect lots of stretching and lengthening with a heavy dose of relaxation to wrap up your practice and leave you feeling great. Classes are suitable for beginners as well as advanced students. Non-heated class.
