Sylvia Lane

I’ve been yoga student for over 8 years and my practice has helped me grow stronger and more flexible. Craving a deeper connection to self and spirituality is what led me to the Just Be Yoga 200 hour Vinyasa Flow training program, which I completed in the winter of 2014. Yoga has helped me find my center. It has helped me connect mind, body and spirit. It brings a feeling of connectedness with my self and my community. Yoga is a healer.

As a teacher I love to share my passion for yoga with my students so they too can experience all the healing benefits that it has to offer. I strive to do this by creating a nurturing, safe, playful space that encourages exploration, having fun and taking risks. My goal as a teacher is that my students leave with a sense of purpose, peace and feeling more connected to their spirit so they can take this with them off the mat and into their daily lives.

Why yoga?

Yoga is an access point that allows me to tap in. Yoga asks me to show up as myself, with zero judgement, only awareness. I can move, breath, release, call in, break down and build up, all in one practice. It's pure magic.

Who or what inspires you?

People in general. My family and friends. Music. Books. Wisdom. The collective. My village. Nature. Dance. Movement. Yoga!

Three adjectives that describe you and your teaching style:

Supportive. Nurturing. Rhythmic.

Where are you the most fearlessly authentic in your life?

On my mat for sure. And when I dance. Both allow for total freedom and acceptance.

What is something not a lot of people know about you?

I could spend endless amounts of time by myself.
