To shift and move stuck energy. To get me out of living in my head all of the time. To actually let go of what happened and stop having anxiety about what could happen. To be in the the present moment. When I practice I am able to create space and then I get to choose what I do with that space. To breathe and to respond rather than react. To feel gratitude for everything exactly how it is.
Who or what inspires you?
The ocean, my teachers, my students, my Mom whom I miss every day, my Dad, my daughter who can find laughter in any situation, Michael Ondaatje, Pema Chodron, Bono, Hafiz, Rilke, Alan Watts, HONY, Pablo Neruda, Yates, Osho, Star Wars, the shadow and the light.
Three adjectives that describe you and your teaching style:
Inclusive. Fluid. Edgy
Where are you the most fearlessly authentic in your life?
I try to do that all of the time, although it's pretty challenging. I feel most raw and vulnerable when I'm taking or teaching yoga. I wear my heart on my sleeve and I never pretend to have anything figured out. We are all in this together.
What is something not a lot of people know about you?
I was in some tabloid magazines in my 20's- bwahahahaha.
Power Vinyasa flow is a rigorous, sweaty yoga practice stemming from the ashtanga tradition. Poses are held for shorter periods of time and will link one breath with motion, creating a dynamic and fluid ‘meditation in motion.’ This is a hot, sweaty fun practice often set to fun, fluid, dynamic music. You will leave inspired and ready to shine off the mat!
Room heated to 85-88 degrees.
